A. Sue Ford, age 64, died at the Hamrick Home on Saturday, June 18, 2011. Born in Alexander City, Alabama, Sue had resided in Okeechobee for the past 25 years. She was an Air Force service brat and had lived around the world. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Fountain of Life Church where she found her greatest enjoyment with Sunday School and serving as a Youth Group leader. She also had served as a Girl Scout leader. Her hobbies included painting in all mediums, quilting, crocheting, and reading, especially the works of Richard Wanbaum. Sue was a registered nurse who always thought of others first and she held the certification as a corrections health care professional.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents William and Sara Weddle. She is survived by her loving husband, Harvey L. Ford, Jr.; sons, Gary Gerber, Harvey L. Ford III; daughter, Sara (Kenny) Jackson; step-son, Vincent Gerber; step-daughter, Shannon Gerber; grandsons, Jacob Jackson, Richard L. Harvey; step-grandson, Conner Jackson; sister, Linda (Gary) Utt, all of Okeechobee; nephew, Joe (Dallas) Smith of Lake Placid, Fla.; nieces, Donna Stiller of Okeechobee, Carole (Dean) Turner of Baton Rouge, La.; great-nephews, Timothy (Angie) Frady, Gage Smith, Steele Turner, Abel Turner; great-nieces, Candice Morris, Megan Stiller, Evangeline Turner; great-great-nephews, Garrett, Bailey, and Ethan Frady; great-great-niece, Bayla Billie; and special friends, Jerry and Linda Abrams.
Sue was much loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 12 pm at the Fountain of Life Church.
