Obituary

Albert A. Kordiak age 9 3 , passed away peacefully on February 5th among family in Vero Beach , Florida. A Lifetime resident of Columbia Heights, he was a winter resident for the many years .

H e was survived by his wife, Mildred; sons, James ( Marilyn ) , Steven ( Jan et) and Daniel; two daughters, Bonita Jones ( Jimmy ) and Deborah Meschke . Albert also has 2 sisters , Sister Donna and S ister Bonita , 11 grandchildren , 7 great grandchildren , a fabulous large family and many friends . He is proceeded in death by his parents George and Anna and his brothers George, Andrew, Thomas and Donald.

Albert was an early leader of Anoka County government and recognized as " father " of Anoka County park system. He was on the Anoka County board of commissioners for 32 years and chairman of the board for 16 of those years. He was solely responsible for obtaining the first county park in the state of Minnesota in Anoka County and later adding 10 park Systems to Anoka County. Albert was on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Bank in Minneapolis . Albert was well recognized in his community for his involvement in many organization and efforts . Albert was local realtor , income tax preparer and Anoka C ounty C ommissioner.

Funeral arrangements are being provided by Washburn McReavy, 4101 Central Ave., Columbia Heights Minnesota. The Visitation and Mass at I mmaculate C onception Church, 4030 Jackson St, Columbia Heights Minnesota , are pending. Albert will be la id to rest at Saint Anthony C emetery in Minneapolis.

In lieu of flowers we would appreciate a contribution in Albert ' s name to Anoka County Parks Department .
