Alexander P. Hilliard, 82, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Hilliard was born May 4, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Vero Beach in 1960 from his place of birth.
He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the US Marine Corps, and had served in the Merchant Marines for the rest of his career. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Vero Beach.
Survivors include his cousin Walter Shymansky of Cohoes, NY and friends Bob and Thelma Brown and Walter and Florence Brown of Vero Beach.
He was predeceased by his parents Julia and Thomas Hilliard.
Services: Funeral services will take place 11 am, Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with Father Ernesto Rios of St. James the Apostle Orthodox Church, Port St. Lucie, FL officiating and military honors provided by VFW post 3918.. Interment will be at a later date at Crestlawn Cemetery in Vero Beach.
