Alice "Jackie" Johnson, 83, of Indian River Shores, FL passed away December 11, 2013 at her residence.
She was born May 11, 1930 in Allentown, PA and had been a resident of Indian River Shores since 1982, coming from Long Swamp Township, PA.
Jackie graduated cum laude from Allentown High School in 1947 and later attended Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.
She worked as a real estate broker in Indian River County for 30 years and served 18 years on the Indian River Shores planning and zoning committee.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon. She was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was a member of the Vero Beach Country Club, Vero Beach Chapter of Kappa Alpha Theta and was a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International .
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 63 years, Paul Johnson of Indian River Shores; daughters, Jolie Morris of Locust Grove, VA and Jeri Lynn Johnson of Panama City Beach, FL; son, Jeffrey Lee Johnson of Panama City Beach; brother, Joel Smith of Young Harris, GA; brother-in-law, Frederick Johnson of Williamsport, MD; grandsons, Eric Johnson of Destin, FL and CDR. Gregory ( Yuka) Morris, USN, of Afghanistan and great-grandchildren, Grace, Alex and Kent of Mons, Belgium. She was predeceased by her brother, John D. Smith.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, December 20, 2013 at the First Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach.
