Obit: Alice W. Millikan

Alice W. Millikan, 95, of Vero Beach, FL died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Mrs. Millikan was born December 18, 1915 in Illinois and moved to Vero Beach in 1957 from Ferndale, MI.

She had been a school teacher for the Indian River County School system. Mrs. Millikan was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach.

Survivors include her daughter Delana Aiton of Simpsonville, SC; daughter Gloria Cooke of Stone Mountain, GA; Cheryl Millikan of Vero Beach, FL; son Brent Millikan of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter Jill Taber of North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband George R. Millikan; a sister Hazel Giltner; and a brother J. F. Wiedman;

Services: The family will receive friends 1-2 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach with a funeral service beginning at 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
