Allene L. Walker, 85, of Vero Beach passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Palm Gardens of Vero Beach. She was born in Berring County, GA to the late Luther and Amanda Asbell Langford.

She was a member of the Grace Life Church of Vero Beach, formally known as Forest Park Baptist Church. She worked for the Indian River School Board as the Food service manager for 32 years. She loved her family, cooking and inspiring others in the food service. She also enjoyed camping and teaching Sunday School and she was an excellent swimmer.

She is preceded in death her husband, John W. Walker, Sr.; son, John W. Walker, Jr.; 4 brothers, Edwin V., Merice L., Leland and Clyde R. Langford; sister, Beth Langford as well as a grandson, Robert Waine Whitehead. She is survived by her son, Ray Walker (Carolyn); 2 daughter's, Barbara Smith (Rushel) and Nelda McNees (Jack); daughter-in-law, Libby Walker, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 10 to 11AM at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th St., Vero Beach, FL 32960. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11AM with burial to follow at Crestlawn Cemetery.
