Obituary

Alma D. Sherman, 84, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, September 19, 2009 at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian after a brief illness.
Mrs. Sherman was born May 21, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY, and moved to Vero Beach in the early 70's from Georgia.
She was a homemaker. Mrs. Sherman was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Vero Beach, she was a volunteer for the blind, and a volunteer at Lake County Hospice and Palm Bay Hospital. She was a member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church in Sebastian.
She was predeceased by a daughter Diana Lynn Owens.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years Jim Sherman of Vero Beach, son Lenny Nielson of Birmingham, AL, daughter Karen Herren of Palm Bay, FL, step-daughter Terry Futch of Vero Beach, step-son Timothy Sherman of Marion, NC, step-son Michael Sherman of Vero Beach, step-daughter Tracy Paulisin of Vero Beach, step-daughter Peggy Sherman of Vero Beach, sister Doris Vetter of Rhode Island, twenty grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Services: The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home with a Service at 7 PM. A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at South Florida National Cemetery.
