Amelia "Amy" Tella Loomis, 79, of Vero Beach, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Indian River Medical Center.
Amy was born June 7, 1933 in Rhode Island. She had been a resident of Vero Beach since 1996, coming from Rhode Island.
Prior to her retirement she was a teacher in Johnston, RI for over 30 years.
She was of the Catholic faith and attended Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.
Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Fleming (Jim) of Vero Beach, Dale Hopkins (Steve) of Gloster, RI, Victoria "Vicki" Suplizio (Mark) of Sebastian, and Lynn Moss (Mike) of Vero Beach; sister, Irma Olszewski (Carl) of Vero Beach; eleven grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Russell Loomis; parents, Nicholas and Jennie (Trombetti) Tell; and herbrother, Nicholas "Nicky" Tella.
Services: A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church at 2:00 pm. Burial will take place in Saint Ann's Cemetery in Cranston, RI.
