Ann Monroe-Hecker, 85 of Vero Beach, passed away on December 17, 2019.

Born August 28, 1934, in Providence, Rhode Island, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Antionetta Martone Plazzo.

A homemaker first and foremost, Mrs. Ann worked outside the home retiring in 1999 as an administrator at National Health Care.

She attended St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Port St. Lucie; enjoyed traveling the world, scuba diving, and playing Mah-jongg.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by eleven siblings; and two husbands, Marcellous L. Monroe in 1971; and Edward Hecker in 2012.

She is survived by her three sons, William J. Monroe and wife Dolores; Robert M. Monroe and wife Tracy; and Gary l. Monroe; grandchildren, William Monroe II, Nicole Garrity, Michael Monroe, Ashley Monroe, Robert Monroe, Jr., Eric Monroe & Steven Southall; several great & great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ursula Guale; and many other loving family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 20, 2019, 2:00 p.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2000 20th St. Vero Beach, FL 32960. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home.
