Anne Ulrica Smith, 77, of Vero Beach died last week in her home.

Mrs. Smith was born Anne Ulrica Schultz in Lunenburg MA on December 17, 1934. She moved to Vero Beach from Washington DC in 1969.

She was a career school teacher, who taught English at St. Edward's Lower School from 1975 to 1995. During her career she served as the Chairman of the Lower School English Department.

Upon retiring she volunteered as a reader for the WQCS Radio Reading Service. Through out her life she demonstrated a commitment to education and a love of literature.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jay Arden Smith Sr. Survivors include her sons Jay Arden Smith Jr. of Oviedo, FL, Jon Alan Smith of Ft. Pierce, FL and grandson Jacob Andrew Smith.
