Obituary

Anne "Nancy" Randolph Patton Thompson of Indian River Shores died peacefully in her home on February 20, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. She was 83.
Nancy was born on October 3, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA where she attended the Ellis School. She graduated from Finch College in New York City in 1950 and entered into a career in public relations with the Bermuda Travel Board and then in investment banking with Shields and Company.
In 1969, she moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she spent the next 30 years raising her family. In 1994 she moved to Florida. Nancy was an active member of the Garden Club of America, the John's Island Club, and the Colony Club in New York.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents, Anne and Melvin G. Patton of Sewickley, PA, and by her husbands, Samuel G. Brown of Colorado Springs, CO, and William D. Thompson of Indian River Shores, FL.
Nancy is survived by her children Nick Schill of Denver, CO, Taylor Brown of Bristol, England and Randy Brown of Arcata, CA; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her family and friends will miss her dearlynot least for her sense of humor, love of music, beautiful garden, storytelling and generous spirit.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at St. Helen's Church, 2085 Tallahassee Avenue, Vero Beach, FL.
