Vero Beach - Archie D. Falardeau, Jr. died peacefully Saturday May 11, 2013 at his home in Vero Beach, FL

Born in Rumford, Maine on September 28, 1919, he was the son of the late Archie D. Falardeau, Sr. and late Delvina (Gagnon) Falardeau.

Archie was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, ME class of 1937 and Brown University. Archie also served in the US Army. After a successful career with IBM primarily in New York City but including several years living and working in France, he retired to Vero Beach, FL with his now deceased long-term partner "Jack" Frank D. Walsh.

During his career, and in retirement, Archie enjoyed traveling to many foreign destinations. Archie was a kind and compassionate soul with a strong love for animals, especially his dog Pepper, with many of his travels including participating in Earth Watch expeditions.

Archie is survived by his sister Lillian Falardeau Irish of West Paris, Maine and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Edward Falardeau and Antoinette Falardeau Schuler. Archie is also survived by his close first cousin, Loretta Falardeau Crowley.

Archie's family would like to express a sincere thank you to Connie Henry, Archie's caregiver, who watched over and cared lovingly for Archie in his final years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Archie's name to the Vero Beach Humane Society. Services are planned for a letter date.
