Archie E. Hancock, age 65, died Sunday, May 8, 2011, at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Ft. Pierce. Archie was born in Okeechobee and a lifetime resident.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was the owner of Exotic Pets and Supplies.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Sonny Hancock; and sisters, Winnie Leitner, Wanda Harden, and Arlene Carter.
Survivors include Denise, his wife of 20 years; son, Reginal Hancock of Ft. Lauderdale; daughter, Loretta Hancock of Jupiter; step-son, Ben Casey of Avon Park; step-daughters, Marissa (Christopher) McManus of Ft. Pierce, Kenna Revels of Okeechobee; grandchildren, Austin, Kaleb, C.J., Aaron, Justin, Jared, Makayla, and Amanda; brother, Johnnie (Lois) Hancock of Okeechobee; sisters, Joyce (John) Varner of Arkansas, and Gail (Greg) Castro of Texas.
Visitation will be held today, May 11, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Buxton-Seawinds Chapel with the service on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Ft. Drum Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Okeechobee Civic Center for a reception following interment.
