Armand Bart George Bartlett, 84, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, September 22, 2008 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. Bartlett was born April 3, 1924 in Tewksbury, MA and moved to Vero Beach eighteen years ago from Enfield, CT.
He graduated from Mary E. Wells High School and joined the US Navy in 1942, serving in both WW II aboard the Navy Destroyer USS Taylor and the Korean War. After an honorable discharge, he worked for Hamilton Standard, a Division of United Technologies, for 20 years and then worked for St. Johnsbury Trucking in Springfield, MA for 25 years. In Vero Beach he worked for eight years as a security guard at the Anchor/Moorings Community until his retirement. He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach and a Teamster Local 404.
Survivors include his wife Peggy Bartlett of Vero Beach, three daughters Lynne Crawford of Vero Beach, Linda Hunter of Clearwater, FL and Jacklyn Kutsin of Seminole, FL; son Dapper Dan Bartlett of Vero Beach; a step-brother Arthur Bartlett of New York; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife Jacqueline Bartlett, daughter Kathleen Barone, and two grandsons.
Service: The family will receive friends 4-7 PM, Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Friday, September 26, 2008 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach with military honors by VFW Post 3918.
