Arnold Huffines, age 75, died Friday, March 25, 2011, at the Hamrick Home. Born in Burlington, N.C., he had been a resident of Okeechobee for 42 years. He was employed by McArthur Farms and retained membership at both Cornerstone Baptist and Trinity Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Charlie Huffines, Jr. and Billie J. Huffines.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Mary; son, Danny (Patty) Huffines of Burlington, N.C.; daughter, Maria (Donald) Riley of Elon, N.C.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen (Bobby) Hensley of Elon N.C., Frances (Edgar) Stutts, Doris(Ronald) Ward, Ann Brown, and LaLa Dameron all of Burlington, N.C.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 28, 2011, from 9 until 10 am with the service at 10:00 am at Trinity Freewill Baptist Church, 1840 NE 39th Blvd., Okeechobee, Fla. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Okeechobee, P.O. Box 1548, Okeechobee, FL 34973.
