Arthur Clayton Kirby, Jr., 94, of Vero Beach, FL died Sunday, March 21, 2010 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. Kirby was born December 31, 1915 in Hamilton, MA and moved to Vero Beach in 1987 from his place of birth.
He worked as a supervisor for the Gear System Division of United Shoe Machines Corp. in Wakefield, MA. Mr. Kirby was a veteran of WW II serving in the Navy in the Pacific Theater in the 135th Seabees. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and member of the John T. Heard Masonic Lodge A. F. & A. M. in Ipswich, MA and the Aleppo Shrine.
Survivors include his wife Roberta Kirby of Vero Beach, son Arthur C. Kirby of Leominster, MA, daughter Karen Kirby of Newberg, OR, four grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his first wife Doris Greaves Kirby, brother Robert Kirby and sisters Shirley Frost and Dorothy McCown.
Services: The family will receive friends 10:30 -11:00 AM, Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home with a life celebration service at 11:00 AM.
