Arthur O. Mercier, 84, of Vero Beach, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Mr. Mercier was born November 29, 1928 in Dracut, MA. He had been a part-time resident of Vero Beach since the 1960s, and moved there permanently 2 years ago from Massachusetts.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion #39. Arthur, also held his pilots license.

Prior to his retirement he worked as a sales engineer for Sherman Car Wash Systems, and owned his own automotive repair shop.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alice S. Mercier; daughter, Sheryl Kliemisch of Vero Beach; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lauren Spangler.
