Arthur Owen Parmelee II, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born November 24, 1919 in Hamden, CT to Daniel and Agnes Parmelee, he was born and raised there and graduated Hamden High School.
Arthur was in the US Army and served his country during WWII. He relocated to Ft. Pierce in 1956 coming from Hamden, CT.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 30 years, Gisela, a brother, Walter A. Parmelee, a sister, Marion Costello, his grandson, Ryan Pinero and a son-in-law, Harry Pinero. Survivors include his children, Janet P. (Jack) Stupakevich, Arthur O. Parmelee III, Walter F. Parmelee, Valerie F. Pinero and Christopher D. Parmelee; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2011 S. 13th Street, Ft. Pierce, FL. A Celebration of His Life will begin at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Craig H. Bode officiating. Interment and Military Honors will follow at White City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Treasure Coast, 1201 SE Indian Street, Stuart, FL 34997 or Trinity Lutheran Church.
