Arthur (Art) Joseph Rua, passed away on May 23, 2020 in Boca Raton, Florida.

Born January 17, 1927 in Bridgeport, CT he was the son of the late Abel Rua and Deolinda da Conceicao Rua. He was married to the late Barbara DeBernardo for 52 years prior to her passing. He was educated in the Bridgeport area. Art was a proud World War II veteran and later attended the University of Bridgeport under the GI Bill.

Art was very involved in helping the youth of his community and worked for many years at the former Hall Neighborhood Home in Bridgeport. He also was employed at Jenkins Brothers Valve before retiring from UTC Sikorsky helicopter division.

Art raised his family in Milford CT and later retired and moved to Fort Pierce Florida in 1995. He is survived by his children Karen (Thomas) Severino of Hamden CT and Boca Raton,FL; Jeffery (Rosemarie) of Naples Florida; Andrew (Linda) of Cheshire CT; Charles (Amy) of Berlin CT and Michael (Ruth) of Milford CT. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren Kimberly Severino, Kyle Rua, Tori Rua, Nathan Rua, Justin Rua, Dahlia Rua; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his siblings Sebastian, Mary, August and James Ruas.
