Arthur N. Towne, 93, of Barefoot Bay, died on Friday, August 5, 2011, at home. He was born in the Borough of the Bronx, New York, and lived in Barefoot Bay since 2004, coming from Southbury, CT. He was employed by the New York City Transit Authority, the Board of Transportation and M.T.A. Subway Divisions as a Deputy Supervisor of the Electrical Power Department. He served in the US Navy during WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. Arthur was a life member of the VFW Post 1607 in Southbury, Lifetime Charter Member of the WWII Memorial, and member of the United States Navy League. Arthur is survived by his daughter Patricia Towne of Barefoot Bay, and predeceased by his wife Margaret M. Towne. Services will be held privately.
