Barbara (Bobbyi) Heitman Platek, of Vero Beach, FL passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015 at Indian River Medical Center.
Bobbyi was born on December 5, 1951 and was raised in Millburn, NJ where she graduated from Millburn High School. She attended Northeastern University and worked for Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, as a Respiratory Therapist before moving to Florida in 1977. In Florida, she changed careers and became an accomplished Activities Director, enjoying state and national recognition and frequent speaking engagements.

Bobbyi is survived by her mother, Barbara Heitman-Contini; step-father, John Contini; brother, Richard (Diane) Heitman; sister, Lori (Phil) Carlton; step-sisters, Melinda (Todd) Hamilton and Jean (John) Landy; step-brother Peter (Maurya) Contini; 12 nieces and nephews and 3 great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Henry R. Heitman III.

A Mass of Bobbyi's life will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Friday, February 27, 2015 at St. Patrick Church in Belvedere, NJ. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
