Barbara Ann (Shalala) Marks, beloved wife to Allan Marks (Vero Beach), and mother to Deborah (Jacobs) Kanafani, Los Angeles, CA; Mark (Christina) Jacobs, Potomac, MD; Trinda (Bryan) Steckler, West Lafayette, IN; and Allan (Donna) Marks, Gaithersburg, MD, went to the Lord, June 10, 2017. She will continue to watch over her family and friends.

Born May 4, 1935 Barbara grew up in West Hempstead, New York, and married Allan Marks on August 29, 1960 in the garden of her family home. She raised her children and they gave her 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, whom she loved and adored.

On Long Island, she had been a member of Levittown Ladies Club, rocking new born babies at Nassau County Hospital. She relocated to Frederick, Maryland where she enjoyed her role in the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion as well as playing Mah Jong and participating in her bowling league. Together Barbara and Allan relocated to Vero Beach, Florida and she enjoyed several years with life long friends and many new ones under sunny skies.

Barbara was a member of St. John's of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach. A memorial mass has been planned for Monday, Nov., 6, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
