Beatrice B Weeks' Obituary
Beatrice B. Weeks, age 84 of Vero Beach, passed away on February 16, 2016 with her family by her side.
She was born on May 11, 1931 and was raised in Milwaukee, WI by her loving parents Leonard and Frances Bulski. Her sister, Patricia Hardrath, preceded her in death. Her brother, Leonard Bulski, survives, and resides in Milwaukee, WI.
She moved to Ann Arbor, MI with her husband, Edward Zimmer, where they raised their 4 children. She owned a successful business called Sunburst Draperies. Two of her children Kurt Zimmer and Sherri Zimmer, preceded her in death. She is survived by her son Gary Zimmer, of Albuquerque, NM and her daughter, Amy Zimmer, of Port St. Lucie, FL. Also surviving is her granddaughter, Catherine Rowan of Pensacola, FL and her grandsons, Eric and Peter Zimmer of Ann Arbor, MI.
On March 8th, 1975 she married William F. Weeks, who preceded her in death in October 2013. Along with her wonderful husband Bill, Beatrice welcomed 7 stepchildren into her life; Elsie J. Wilson, Dorothea F. Chamberlain, Willa S. Wilson, Deanna M. White, William L. Weeks, Jackie L. Downing and Myra A. Lowry.
In 1986 Beatrice and Bill, moved to Vero Beach, Florida to enjoy retirement. Bea was kind and caring and displayed it frequently through her dogs. Coco, a Poodle and Mitzie a Bichon Frise, were the love of her life for many years. Beatrice was an accomplished artist who was a frequent participant in the Humiston Weekly Art Show. Her art is treasured by many family members. She worked as a CNA in Vero Beach. She also volunteered at the Vero Beach library and Meals on Wheels for many years. She's also been a member of Unity Church in Vero Beach for over 20 years; it was an important part of her life. Together with Bill, they enjoyed boating, dancing, bowling gardening, traveling, art shows and playing games. She was a devoted wife to Bill. In the last two years of his life, she lovingly took care of him as he battled Alzheimer's.
She loved entertaining her family, most of all, her grandchildren, especially at 8:00pm, for her 8:00 o'clock snack! This tradition will be carried on for many years to come. Together with Bill, they had 26 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren, with another great-great grandchild on the way.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.
