Benjamin E. Gibson, 92, of Vero Beach, FL died Tuesday, June 7, 2010 at the Indian River Medical Center.
Mr. Gibson was born April 24, 1918 in Elloree, SC and moved to Vero Beach in 2000 from Waldo, FL.
He was a combat veteran of WWII and Korea and served 20 years in the US Army. He received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his sisters Ella Larson, Lucille Cochran, and Sally Boggs of Jacksonville, FL, Rose Ann Harte of North Carolina, and brother Aubrey Gibson of Freeport, TX.
Mr. Gibson was predeceased by his wife Ruth L. Gibson on May 12, 2007.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, June 11, 1010 at the Florida Baptist Retirement Center in Vero Beach. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
