Benjamin M. Martin, 85, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Palm Garden of Vero Beach.
Mr. Martin was born November 22, 1924 in Chillicothe, MO and moved to Vero Beach in 1971 from Syracuse, IN.
He was a graduate of Braymer, MO High School before enlisting in the US Army Air Force obtaining the rank of 1st Lt as a bombardier during WW II. He attended Ohio State University and spent his career in the plumbing and heating industry as a manufacturers rep. He was an avid fisherman spending a lot of time on the Indian River lagoon.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Ruth W. Martin of Vero Beach; daughter Susan Craig of Newark, DE; sons Benjamin M. Martin, Jr. and James W. Martin both of Ft. Wayne, IN; and daughter Mary Beth Brown of Vero Beach; ten grandchildren, a step-grandchild, seven great grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
Services: A celebration of Bens life will take place 1 PM, Monday, January 4, 2009 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
