Bernard E. Plantz, 81, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away October 28, 2018, at Indian River Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 2018, in Madison, NB and had been a resident of Vero Beach since 2004, coming from Port Saint Lucie.

Mr. Plantz was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Lincoln, NE Fire Department after 20 years of service and was most recently he was a volunteer at Fairwinds Golf Course, Fort Pierce, FL.

He leaves his memories to be cherished by his children, Steven Plantz and LaShelle Hallagin; sister, Penny Burch and brother, Paul Zobel.  He was predeceased by his wife, Karen Plantz in 2011; parents, Paul and Irene Zobel; sister, Norma Jean Tupper and brother, Robert L. Plantz.

A funeral service and inurnment will be held at a later date in Columbus, NE.
