Bernard C. Waite, "Barney," of Lakewood Park in Fort Pierce, FL died April 9, 2017. Born on July 25, 1942 in Toledo, Ohio where he went to school and was an altar boy at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.

Barney loved cars, boating, and fishing. He loved traveling to the National Parks with his wife in their little trailer. He loved his grandkids and tried to teach them to be good people, and how to take care of their cars. He also loved his home, and loved to repair and improve it. He was affiliated with St. Helen Catholic Church of Vero Beach, FL and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store.

He is survived by his wife Carol Waite; sons, Glen (Lisa) Waite of Dallas, TX and Craig (Laura) Waite of Lavon, TX; daughter, Holly (Bo) Leide of Ft. Pierce, FL; brothers, Fred (Jean), Pat (Nancy), and Christopher (Karen); and his six grandchildren, Josie, Dixie, Andrew, Christen, Ellen, and Christopher.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 2pm-4pm at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 4pm in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. Lucie Humane Society, 100 Savannah Rd, Fort Pierce, FL 34982 or to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 1745 14th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
