Bette Nadina Houck, 96, of Vero Beach, FL, passed away December 14, 2014, at her grandson's home, in Hobe Sound, FL. Bette was born in Eldorado, KS.

Most of her early years were spent in various towns and cities in Oklahoma. She graduated from Bristow High School in 1935 and finished Tulsa Business College. She was employed as a Secretary with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Ethel Corp, Carter Oil Company and the Navy Underwater Sound Laboratory. Later she worked with Mr. Houck in their business. The became Florida residents in 1945.

She was a member of Christ by the Sea Methodist Church.

She is survived by two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her son, James, preceded her in death in 1970 and her husband, Philip in 2006.

Friends may call on Thursday, December 18th, from 11:00am until 12:00pm at the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, with the Funeral Service following at 12:00pm in the Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel, burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce, FL.
