Betty Jane Dukes, 73, of Winter Beach, FL died Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mrs. Dukes was born December 15, 1934 in Winter Beach and returned to Winter Beach in 1964 from Riviera Beach, FL.
She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Riviera Beach and the First Baptist Church of Winter Beach where she served as President of the WMU and various other church organizations. After retiring as the Postmaster of Winter Beach following 25 years of service she was active in the Rose Circle of Garden Club of Indian River County.
Survivors include her daughter Daisy D. Everhart, Carolyn A. Dukes and Faye D. Estes; ten grandchildren and one great grandson.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry Dukes and a brother Junior Woods.
Services: The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM, Friday, February 1, 2008 at Kings Baptist Church in Vero Beach with a funeral service 2 PM, Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Kings Baptist Church, Rev. Frank Ellis officiating. Interment will follow at Winter Beach Cemetery.
