Betty Jane Marshall, 83, of Vero Beach, Florida died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at her residence after a prolonged illness.
She was born March 1, 1924, in New Haven Connecticut, and moved to Vero Beach in 1988 from Potomac, Maryland, where she was a resident for 30 years..
Mrs. Marshall was a graduate of Connecticut College and a homemaker. She was a volunteer in many organizations both stateside and abroad including the Gray Ladies at the NIH in Maryland, the Girl Scouts of Maryland, the Community Bible Study in Maryland, and a facilitator of the Widows and Widowers Support Group at the First Church of God in Vero Beach. She was a member of Kings Baptist Church in Vero Beach and a member and active volunteer of the Fourth Presbyterian Church in Bethesda, Maryland.
Survivors include her husband of 12 years Alvin; three daughters, Jan Arey of Stafford, Virginia, Susan Bohannan of Chesapeake, Virginia and Elizabeth Hunter of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband of 47 years Walter Bruce Griffith.
Services: A memorial service will be held 2 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Kings Baptist Church, 3235 58th Avenue, Vero Beach, Florida with Reverend Murray Hicks and Pastor Frank Ellis officiating.
