IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Betty Jean
Snyder
February 2, 1931 – June 23, 2021
Betty Snyder, age 90, passed away on June 23, 2021. She was born in Paris, TN. She attended Bethel University. After college, Betty moved to Charleston, SC. She began a modeling career, culminating with modeling for Chevrolet on national television commercials.
Upon leaving Charleston, she met and married Phillip Denton Snyder of Vero Beach. Together they would raise their five children.
Betty would go on to run the tennis shop at Riomar Bay Yacht Club.
In 1982 she had an idea that would keep her busy for the next 20 years. That idea became Indian River General Store on Azalea Lane. She had the most wonderful customers and employees. The store would prove to be quite a success.
Betty and family were former members of John's Island Club and Riomar Bay Yacht Club. She and Phillip would win or place in many a tennis tournament at both clubs.
Betty is survived by 2 daughters, Melissa Hogan and Janice Bieber; son, Phillip Snyder (Pete) and 2 granddaughters, Kylie Hogan and Jesse Hogan; and 1 great grandson, Roland.
Betty is predeceased by her husband, Phillip; daughter, Jenifer Klyce; son, Jef Snyder and granddaughter, Fara Nicole Choate.
There will be a small family ceremony at the Garden of Christ Methodist Church by the Sea, in which she was a long time member.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Indian River Humane Society of Vero Beach.
