Betty I. (Stavnitzky) Susla, 83, of Vero Beach, Florida, passed away on February 19, 2012 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach. The cause of death was lung disease.
She was born on July 9, 1928 in Winsted, Connecticut to Genevieve and Michael Stavnitzky. She graduated from The Gilbert School in Winsted and earned an R.N. license at the William Backus School of Nursing in Norwich, Connecticut. She married Nicholas J. Susla, of Torrington, Connecticut on October 29, 1955. Her civic interests included membership in the League of Women Voters and the Greenwoods Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is survived by her two children, Jeffrey J. Susla of Woodstock, Connecticut and Cynthia W. Chick, of Dedham, Massachusetts and Palm Beach, Florida, along with her daughter-in-law, Patricia A. Susla, and son-in-law, Peter C. Chick. She is predeceased by her husband, Nicholas, and her two brothers, Paul M. Stavnitzky and Donald Stavnitzky. Funeral
