Betty B. Worton, 84 years young, passed away Nov. 4th 2011 at V.N.A. Hospice House in Vero Beach. Betty was born on October 10 1927 in Columbus Ohio and raised in Worthington, Ohio until 1947 when she moved to Miami, Fl.

Betty held many jobs during her working lifetime. She served as a legal secretary, store manager (The Nautical Shop in Key West), enrollment officers at International Fine Arts College in Miami. While employed at I.F.A.C. Betty was able to travel the world as an international liason. Betty had many fond memories of her travels and many stories of the people she met along the way. Betty's port of call was Barbados and she especially love the resort at Black Beach. Upon her departure from I.F.A.C., Betty took a job at Florida International University. Betty worked as Admission Officer at the English Language Institute until she retired on February 1999.

Betty is survived by her three sons and their wives, Joseph E. (Red) and Patricia Worton of Sylva N.C., John B. and Kerri-Shea Worton of Stuart, Fl., William A. (Bill) and Kathy Worton of Homestead Fl. Betty is also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren who were her pride and joy.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Joseph E. Worton Sr., her father, mother, brothers - Frank and Bill and sisters - Marge and Kate. Betty considered herself the last of the Brownies.

Memorial Contributions maybe made to the organizations that Betty volunteered at including, V.N.A. Hospice, 901 37th st. Vero Beach, Fl. 32960, Make-a-Wish foundation, Salvation Army, and Community Church of Vero Beach. Better yet, volunteer as Betty did and touch another's life as she was so fond of doing.
