Harry William Fersch, III., 66, of Vero Beach, FL died Saturday, September 12, 2009 at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Mr. Fersch was born March 27, 1943 in Vero Beach and returned to Vero Beach 32 years ago from Atlanta, GA.
Prior to his retirement he was the owner of Fersch Masonry. He served in United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Mr. Fersch was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and was a graduate of the University of Miami in Miami, FL, playing both defensive and offensive guard for The Hurricanes.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Harriett Happy (nee Price) Fersch of Vero Beach; two daughters Greta Lassitter of Rockmart, GA and Krista Pappas of Palm Bay, FL; mother Monteen Fersch of Winter Beach, FL; brother Walter Fersch of Collettsville, NC; two sisters Joyce Dockery of Lockesburg, AK and Anne Marie Chevrier of East Greenbush, NY.
Services: The family will receive friends 2-4 PM and 5-8 PM, Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel in Vero Beach. Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon, Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church with military honors provided by VFW Post 3918.
