Bjarne H. Oppedahl, 85, of Vero Beach, FL died Thursday, June 19, 2008 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
Mr. Oppedahl was born October 23, 1922 in Stavanger, Norway and moved to Vero Beach in 1982 from Fort Dodge, IA
He was a member of the First Church of God in Vero Beach and was a Letter Carrier for the United States Post Office prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife Audrey J. Oppedahl of Vero Beach; son Mark Oppedahl of Phoenix, AZ; daughters Pamela Reeck of Fort Dodge, IA, Ann Rodenborn of Fort Dodge, IA, Carol Raner of Fort Dodge, IA and Joyce Dunbar of Clearfield, UT; step daughters Vicki Porter of Pittsburgh, PA and Linda Grondin of San Diego, CA; brothers Oscar Oppedahl of Bode, IA and Richard Oppedahl of Vermillion, SD; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and a step great-grandchild.
He was predeceased by his first wife Darlene Oppedahl and a step-son Paul Fogli.
Services A memorial service will take place 2 PM, Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Prayer Chapel of the First Church of God in Vero Beach.
