Bonnie Victoria de Kiraly Chabot, 94, died December 15, 2012 at the Arbors at the Lakes of Point West, Vero Beach, FL.

She was born in New York City on July 27, 1918 to Victor and Ella de Kiraly. Her father was a theatre manager to many Broadway stars including Billie Burke and Florence Ziegfeld.

She graduated from George Washington High School in New York City at the age of 16 and attended business college in NYC. On December 23, 1937, she married the late Col. Joseph Ludger Chabot, United States Military academy at West Point Class of 1937, a survivor of the Bataan death March and 34 months as a Japanese POW in the Philippines. During World War II, she worked for the William Esty Advertising agency in New York City as an assistant to John Esty, son of the founder of the agency. After raising six children, she obtained her real estate license and worked as a realtor in McLean, Virginia, before retiring with her husband to summer in Whitefield, NH and winter in Florida. She was extremely creative and adept at rug hooking, needlepoint, upholstery, beading, and various other arts and crafts.
She traveled greatly as a military wife, including stations in the Philippine Islands and Germany. She lived for many years in McLean, Virginia and had resided at Pointe West in Vero Beach since 2006, coming from Melbourne, Florida.

She was a Presbyterian and attended Ecumenical services held on Sundays at the Arbors at Pointe West.

Survivors include her six children and their spouses: three sons, Brion Victor Chabot of Alabama, Joseph Laurent Chabot of New York, Edmund Ludger Chabot of Texas; three daughters, Jeanne Wallis of Virginia, Georgiana Krueger of Wisconsin, and Ella Chabot-Policare of Sebastian, FL; eleven grandchildren, Belinda and Joseph Chabot, Thomas, Robert, David and Michael Wallis, Bonnie Ross, James and Jennifer Krueger, Gabriella and Victoria Remington, and seven great grandchildren.

Services: A celebration of life memorial service will take place on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2 pm at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street Vero Beach, FL. Bonnie will be laid to rest with her husband Joseph with burial and services at West Point, New York in late December. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bonnie's memory to Hospice of Vero Beach.
