Bonnie Bartlett Cournoyer
Bonnie Cournoyer, 72 died on November 29, 2008 at her home in Barefoot Bay.
She was born in Topeka, KS but lived most of her younger years in Wichita Falls, TX. She was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and a 1957 graduate of Wichita General Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her marriage she was employed as a Registered Nurse at Wichita General Hospital ER and had previous experience in Psychiatric Nursing. She retained this position until her marriage to Henry J. Cournoyer, a US Air Force officer in June 1959.
For the next 20 years she accompanied her husband on numerous assignments here in the US and overseas. She taught English to students in Japan, was Co-President of the Home and School Association of the Catholic school in Winooski Vermont and attended numerous diplomatic functions with her husband while in Washington DC.
In 1975 she returned to Wichita Falls, TX upon the retirement of her husband from the military and together they started a Lawn and Landscaping business.
In 1986 she become co-owner of Col C Cs Speedrome a circular stock car race truck in Wichita Falls. In 1998 she and her husband retired to Barefoot Bay, Florida.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years. Lt Col, Henry J. Cournoyer also of Barefoot Bay, three sons, Henry J. III, Christopher W. And Anthony P. All of Wichita Falls, TX. She had four Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Katherine and Roy Bartlett and two brothers Richard and Roy Bartlett Jr. All of Wichita Falls, TX.
A memorial mass will be held at 10:00A on Tuesday, December 9, 2008t. Lukes Catholic Church in Barefoot Bay.
