BRIAN CHRISTOPHER GREEN
MAY 7, 1984-AUGUST 31, 2008
Brian Green, 24, died August 31, 2008 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer for 9 ½ years.
He was a native of Sebastian, FL. He attended Pelican Island Elementary, Sebastian River Middle School, Sebastian River High School and the University of Central Florida.
As a child he learned to love sports, playing many years of little league baseball and excelling as goalkeeper in soccer.
He was in the International Baccalaureate program at Sebastian River High and continued his love for sports, playing football, soccer & track throughout high school. He received numerous awards during high school but his most treasured was being the first male recipient of the Crystal Shark Award for outstanding academic and athletic achievement, the high schools highest award. In his senior year he received many scholarships and his proudest accomplishment was receiving Indian River Countys highest scholarship-the Dollars for Scholars- Richardson Scholarship.
He attended college at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. He began as an engineer major but later his goal was to become a teacher and coach at Sebastian River High. He worked at college for the engineering department and later as an equipment manager for the UCF football team, a job he cherished because of his love for sports. He was a founding father of Sigma Nu Fraternity at UCF. He loved being part of this fraternity that stands for Love, Honor and Truth. He was in his true glory at college.
For the past few years, when he was unable to attend college in Orlando, he continued to take classes online, work as a engineer intern for the City of Sebastian and help coach at Sebastian River High.
He will be remembered for his amazing inner strength, courage, perseverance, positive attitude, determination, contagious smile and wonderful sense of humor. He lived his life to the fullest and accomplished more in 24 years than most people do in a lifetime. He was an inspiration to everyone who met him. He was treasured, loved and honored by all. He was a true hero, a Knight in shining armor and Superman. He will live in our hearts for eternity.
