Obituary

It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the sudden unexpected passing of Brian Francis Sullivan, who went on to a better place, on Wed., October 14th, in Sebastian, Florida, where he resided for the past 10 years.  He was 61 years young.

Brian was born on May 25, 1965 in Waterbury, CT. He was the son of the late Francis & Susan Sullivan. He leaves behind his sister, Laurie Gros, his loving friend Karen Parlato and her family, and we cannot forget his beloved cat Sasha and extended family members and friends. He was an ‘animal magnet’ and his friend’s pets will miss him enormously.

Brian graduated from Watertown High School in 1983 and went on to study at Waterbury State Technical College. He became an IT Planner/Developer and excelled in his work, always striving to get more certifications.  Brian was an adventurous man. From hiking, fishing, kayaking, camping and scuba diving to photography. He loved to go for long drives and get out into nature to take photos, most recently at Merritt Island Nature Preserve and to capture launches at Cape Canaveral.

He was also an accomplished musician. His greatest loves were piano and guitar. He was a fan of live concerts and the Vero Beach Blues Festival.

He was very proud of his Irish and German heritage and got to visit Germany a few years back, which he enjoyed very much.

He was an avid Yankees baseball fan, and sadly, a Miami Dolphins fan as well. (His sister tried desperately to convert him to the Patriots, but, we know how that went! 😊)

Brian’s sense of humor cannot be outshined. He brought laughter everywhere. He was generous and thoughtful….in just the right way.

Laurie & Karen are so thankful for the outpouring of support, from texts and calls, with memories and stories shared. He will be so missed, but we know he was loved by many.

So think of Brian when you are out enjoying nature. Toast him with a Jameson or a Guinness stout and find a song that will always bring him to mind when you hear it.

Rest Peacefully Brian. YOU ARE LOVED!
