IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Brianna Marie
Butler
June 17, 1999 – February 27, 2022
Brianna Marie Butler, 22, of Palm Bay, Florida, who chose to leave this life on her own terms, was discovered in the early morning of Sunday, February 27th in the comforts of her own home.
Brezzy was born at Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island, New York, or June 17th, 1999, to Elizabeth Guslawski and Senda Butler. Shortly after her 1st birthday, the family moved to Vero Beach. She attended Cradles to Crayons, Rosewood Magnet and Storm Grove Middle School, and then relocating to Melbourne, Florida during the courtship and marriage of Elizabeth to Erik Guslawski. She attended Johnson Middle School and graduated from Eau Gallie High School where she received certification in early childhood development. She was currently contining her education at Eastern Florida State College with aspirations of becoming a pediatrician, while bartending at Hooters Restaurant, and then The Copper Chimney in Palm Bay, Florida.
Brianna never sat still, and was always actively involved in her community, all while creating so many close relationships along the way. At the age of 4, Bre started her athletic journey playing soccer for Indian River County, then tumbling and gymnastics at both the Vero Beach Rec Center and Christi's Fitness. Gymnastics led to cheerleading, where Bre cheered and was a flier for Christi's and then the Sebastian Sharks. Her competitive nature led her to play softball for many different teams throughout the rest of her school career to include county, PAL, JV, Varsity, and a few travel ball teams with many of those games overlapping seasons.
Brianna had a passion for providing her time and love in humanitarian efforts. Raised in the Catholic religion, she became affiliated with Holy Cross where she was baptized, received Holy Communion, and then changing affiliations to join the Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, where she was Confirmed in the faith, eventually enjoying services held by Pastor Mark at Calvary Chapel then becoming her home of worship. Throughout our years in Vero, she and her very much-loved brother Cameron Butler would visit dogs in the animal shelter and donate chew toys. During the holidays, we would spend time with the residence of the woman's shelter. Bre would always make it a point to save toys and clothes for the shelter to donate to the other children there and would either serve the food we were cooking or would play with Cammy and the small children. She would sing Christmas carols and visit the elderly in nursing facilities. She joined Best Buddies in high school to help her peers navigate from class to class, and participated in events held by Nana's house in Palm Bay to raise funds for charity. These are only a few examples of her heartfelt kindness. And let's not forget how many times we had to stop the car to rescue an animal, a turtle, or connect a dog to their loved ones.
Brianna met and fell in love with Nathanial Cantu in 2017. Her infectious giggle and unforgettable smile are what drew him to her. They quickly hit it off and were clearly on their way to a very long and successful relationship. There were a lot of firsts for Brianna. Her first concert, her first time seeing the Grand Canyon, viewing the New York Skyline from the One World Trade Center, and even traveling out to Colorado where they went snowboarding! It was during this time when she met her best friends Angelica Hock, Mark Robinson, and Christopher Hill. This group has been inseparable and bounded at the hip. They did everything together. Fast forward to her 22nd birthday when Bre and Nate bought their first home together having marriage and children of their own in site.
Brianna is survived by her love Nathanial Cantu; mother Elizabeth (Frank) Guslawski; brother Cameron Butler; step-father Erik Guslawski; father Senda Butler; future in-laws Julio Cantu, Ashley Martin, Julio Cantu II, and Troy Ellis; family members Deja Miller, Patrick and Loren Moran, Jacob Parks, Madison Moran, Michael and Amber Brady, Tiana Brady, Steven and Kristen Smiley, Avery Smiley, Christopher and Lisa Frank, Collette Giannotti, Louie Giannotti, Roger and Audrey Jenkins; family friends Angelica Hock, Christopher Hill, Mark Robinson, Edwin and Erica Molina; and many other cousins, aunts, uncles and extended loved ones.
