Bruce Emery, 82, of Barefoot Bay Passed away May 29th at Indian River Memorial Hospital Vero Beach, Florida after an extended illness.
He was born May 14, 1927 in Port Jervis, NY and has been a resident of Barefoot Bay for the past 4 years coming from Middletown, NY. Prior to retirement he was a life long carpenter in Milford, PA and San Diego, CA. He proudly served our country in the merchant marines during World War II and the Army in the Korean Conflict. He attended the Catholic Church.
He was a woodsmen by heart and loved spending time walking through the woods. He loved gardening and working with Bees.
Survivors include his fianc Lucy Sicina of Barefoot Bay, FL; two daughters Tammy Wykoff and husband Robert, Lisa Emery Scheibner and husband Michael both of Milford, PA. One brother James Emery of Milford, PA; two sisters Virginia (Peach) Robinson of Honesdale, PA, and Fern VanArsdale of Milford, PA. Four grandchildren Carissa Souza and husband John Paul of Milford, PA, Robert Wykoff III of Milford, PA, Brandon Kingston and Rachel Kingston of Milford, PA. One great-grandchild Kenzi Neighbors of Milford.
Predeceased by brothers Henry and Gifford Emery, sister Betty Olson and granddaughter Salina Culver.
The family will receive friends 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2009 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church in Milford, PA, with a memorial service at 7:30 PM.
