Burton Joseph Miller 85, of Vero Beach, Florida, went to be with the Lord on February 17, 2017.

Burton was born on January 22, 1932 in Evansville, Indiana. He relocated to Vero Beach in 2014. He served in the United States Air Force from 1951-1954. He was a member of the American Legion in Rockport, Indiana, and Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Evansville, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Burton and Nelda Helen Miller; sister, Frances C. Cameron; and Grandson, Joshua Messex.

He is survived by 4 daughters, Kimberly Miller of Evansville, Indiana; Marlette Fuquay of Cannelton, Indiana; Scarlett Lerche of Rockport, Indiana; and Jane Messex of Huntington Beach, California. He is also survived by Mary Ellen Bucher, his partner and best friend for 17 years, his 5 grandchildren, and his 9 great-grandchildren.

Joe (Dr. Dance) had a great passion for teaching Ballroom Dancing to his students and friends for more than 17 years. He also loved sports, especially the Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Reds, Miami Marlins since 2016, and Indiana University College Basketball. There was nothing he didn't know about sports.

Joe was a kind, loving, thoughtful person. He would go out of his way to help anyone. He will be greatly missed by all who know him.
