Obit: Burton Leroy Rhodes

Burton Leroy Rhodes, 88, of Vero Beach, FL died Monday, August 8, 2011 at the Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.

Mr. Rhodes was born May 10, 1925 in Huntington Woods, MI and moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL in 1942 and to Vero Beach 19 years ago.

He had been involved in sales at the Powell Fort Motor Co, in Ft. Lauderdale for 35 years and various concessions in South Florida before his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Vero Beach, a Master Mason and member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Lake Worth and the Hi-12 Club of Vero Beach.

Survivors include his grandsons Darrell Rhodes (Monica) of Stillwater, MN and Todd Rhodes of Stillwater, MN; granddaughter Nicola Nolan (Doug) of Parker, CO; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Fezzy Rhodes, son John Michael Rhodes, and his parents Forrest Rhodes and Clara Rhodes..

Services: A memorial service with Masonic Honors will take place 11 AM, Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach.
