Carl Edward Olsen 83, passed away February 18, 2018 with his daughters by his side.  He was born in Manhattan, N.Y. on March 1, 1934 to the late, Haakon M. and Josephine P. Olsen. Upon graduating high school he entered the U.S. Navy and proudly served during the Korean War. Once he returned, he had a career in law enforcement as a police sergeant with Montvale, NJ.  Upon his retirement, he and his wife moved to Vero Beach, FL where he worked at Orchid Island as a security supervisor for 27 years.

Carl enjoyed many things in life.  He loved reading, traveling, watching football, going to the casino and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events.  Carl was a very giving individual and gave to many organizations to help others.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; step-son, James Pohida; 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Olsen; and 1 sister, Elaine Fitzpatrick.

He is survived by his daughters, Karen M. Falcon (Danny) and Eileen M. Jones (Brian); step-son, Robert Pohida (Roseann); grandchildren, Robert Pohida, Cara Pohida, Daniel Falcon and Brian Jones; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends

A visitation will take place Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20 ^th St. Vero Beach, FL. 32960.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 Noon at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2000 20 ^th St. Vero Beach, FL 32960.

The family suggests donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
