Carlo A. Rivasi's Obituary
Carlo A. Rivasi, 90, of Vero Beach passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the Indian River Estates Medical Center.
Mr. Rivasi was born May 28, 1921 in Ladd, IL to Maria and Angelo Rivasi. He and his wife Lee moved to Treasure Coast in 1986, coming from Columbus, OH. He was a Chemical Engineering graduate from Purdue University. Carlo served in United States Army during WWII as a 1st Lieutenant in the 66th Division.
He worked for the Sinclair Oil Company; 20 years for the Union Carbide plastics division; ten years for the Amerace Corporation where he served as president of their EMC plastics division, president of their chemical division; president of the Swan Hose division and Vice President of the Amerace Corporation. He finally retired in 1986 with the Borden Chemical company as president of their chemical division.
He was an active member of the local community. He served on the committee boards of Safespace, the Opera Society, County Cultural Arts, and the County Commission's Budget Review.
He served on the Palm Beach Diocese Charity and Housing Boards. He served on the Saint John of the Cross Finance Committee. He is a retired member of the Fort Pierce Rotary Club and the Paul Harris Fellow.
He served as a member of the Indian River ACTS East Resident Board, and later became president. He was also president of their FLICRA Board.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Leona "Lee".
He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Lee Rivasi; and his twelve siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, June 8, 2012 at Saint John of the Cross Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow on Monday, June 11, 2012 at 1:00PM at South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL.
