Carol J. Burdette, 81, of Vero Beach passed Sunday January 28 ^th at VNA Hospice. She was born in Glens Falls, New York, and moved to Vero Beach about 37 years ago from Norwich, CT.
Carol retired from the Florida Baptist Retirement Center in 2005, after 21 years as the Director of Nursing. She received an RN from Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, Brooklyn, NY., a BS and a MA degree in Health Care Administration from College of St. Francis, Joliet, IL. She was a professor at Barry University and the author of several books. She was a member and fellow of various nursing organizations. She was a VNA Hospice and Humane Society volunteer for many years.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Debra Colombo and son-in-law, Peter Colombo of Andover, MA; her two sons, Keith Noseworthy of Mystic, CT and Scott Noseworthy of Voluntown, CT; two granddaughters, Caroline Colombo of Pittsburgh, PA and Jennifer Colombo of Boston, MA and two step-daughters, Sherri and Nan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Burdette.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 1-2pm, Sunday, February 4, 2018 followed by a 2pm Celebration of Life at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, Vero Beach.
