Carolyn Ann Richardson, 79, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, at Spring Hill Assisted Living Facility in Vero Beach, FL. Born in Binghamton, NY, on May 16, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Charles Hotchkiss Osterhout and Louise Hauser Osterhout.

Carolyn spent her early years in Binghamton before moving to Vero Beach just before middle school, and lived in Springfield, VA for many years prior to returning to Vero. She graduated from Vero Beach High School in 1963 and went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Florida State University, and later, a Master's degree from George Mason University. Throughout her life, Carolyn dedicated herself to education and service, working as a teacher, secretary, technical writer, reading specialist, and nurse.

A devoted wife to James David Richardson and loving mother to Charles Richardson and Alice Richardson Kimbrough, Carolyn cherished her role as a mother-in-law to Chris Kimbrough and as a grandmother to Luke, Raymond, and Megan. She also held a special place in her heart for her sister, Gladys Chambley Kicklighter, beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Carolyn was a passionate church member and served as a Sunday School teacher. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a missionary to the Philippines, where she shared her love of the Lord with others.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Spring Hill Assisted Living Facility for their compassionate care.

A funeral service will be held at Cox Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00pm with burial to follow in Crestlawn Cemetery.

Carolyn will be remembered for her hospitality, dedication to her family, and unwavering faith.
