Carolyn Marcy Spears, 76, of Vero Beach, FL died unexpectedly Monday, November 24, 2008 at the Holmes Regional Hospital in Melbourne, FL.
Mrs. Spears was born July 26, 1932 in Detroit, MI and became a fulltime resident of Vero Beach three years ago, after moving from Cleveland, OH.
She belonged to the Episcopal Church and had been a volunteer for the Humane Society of Vero Beach/Indian River County and Habitat For Humanity. Mrs. Spears was a member of the Sea Oaks Chorus and chaired the Communications Committee of Sea Oaks. She was an avid bridge player and reader.
Survivors include her husband Robert S. Spears of Vero Beach, son Timothy B. Spears of Middlebury, VT, son Daniel B. Spears of Cockeysville, MD, daughter Gretchen S. Jacobsen of Seattle, WA, daughter Sara S. Fleming of San Francisco, CA, sister Sara M. Cole of West Hartford, CT, sister Gretchen M. Balch of Clinton, NY, and eight grandchildren.
Services: A memorial service will take place on Sunday, December 7 at 1:00 PM at Sea Oaks Beach Club in Vero Beach with Father Michael Goldberg officiating , as second service will be held on June 27 at 11:00 AM at St. Pauls Church in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.
