Caron Sue Smith, 77, of Vero Beach Florida, passed to the lord Saturday July 2, 2022 with her family by her side.

She was born to the late Louie Franklin and Ora Ellen Sisk on July 10, 1944 in Quincy Il. Caron Sue was raised in LaBelle Mo. and was the youngest of 8 children.  She was married to the late Richard Smith in 1996 and they spent 23 great years together before his passing in 2019.

Soon after arriving in Vero Beach in 1974 Caron enrolled in the Cosmetology School at Indian River State College. Upon graduation she owned and operated Caron's House of Beauty in Vero for many years. Soon after retirement she decided to buy the Beach Barber Shop and operated this business for another 10 years. Caron's customers quite often became good friends. She loved to travel and was quick to make friends. She was very creative and  loved to paint and spend time with her grandchildren. She was especially keen on helping the less fortunate, always had uplifting words of advice and did not allow the people in her life to feel sorry for themselves for very long. She leaned in and took life head on in whatever it had to offer. She was a courageous woman who loved her family dearly.

Caron is survived by her son David (Denise) Brocksmith of Vero Beach FL; including four grandchildren, Leslie (James) Turner of Royal Oak MI; David (Kaila) Brocksmith of Front Royal VA; Alex Brocksmith of Ocala FL;  Amanda (Will) Wilkins of Seattle WA; 1 great grandchild Simon Ellis Turner; two sisters Katherine "Katie (Bill) Summers of Eldon MO; Edna Rhoads of Sherman TX; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Sisk; four sisters, Mary Bradley, Doris Morath, Ellen Parrish and Jeanette Baker.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 28th  beginning at 3:00pm at Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home.
