Catherine Kennedy left this earth on July 6, 2015, after 101 years of service to her family and her faith. Catherine was born on the family farm on April 28, 1914 in Jackson, NE.

She was the sixth child and only daughter of Adda and Joseph Twohig. Catherine married Bernard Francis Kennedy on June 23, 1938. The couple raised 8 children in various parts of the country. Catherine and Bernard retired to Vero Beach in the late 70's. She spent her final years in Saint Marys, WV.

Catherine is survived by her children, Mary Kennedy of Saint Marys, WV, Theresa (John) Kelley of Cary, NC, Patricia (Douglas) Kern of Kennedyville, MD, Richard (Pamela) Kennedy of Clifton, VA, John (Irene) Kennedy of Menlo Park, CA, Jane (Charlie) Boley of Saint Marys, WV, and Paul (Beth) Kennedy of Jasper, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband of fifty years, in 1989, and one son, B. Joseph Kennedy in 1998.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11 am, July 11, 2015 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce where she will rest beside her husband and son. Online condolences may be made at www.coxgiffordseawinds.com
